Summary of time spent

WOW!!
I cannot believe that the time has come to go back to SA already!
This trip has been filled with much laughter, many experiences and most of all FUN!!
I will NEVER regret coming to Mauritius.. It is such a beautiful, laid back and relaxed island. Once you are here, it is like you have no stress... :)

I would just like to say thank you to everyone that made my trip memorable! Honestly from the bottom of my heart I wish each one of you would realize how amazing you have made my trip!

In the 6 weeks I was here, we did soooo many things like : eating Marvelle, to seeing 7 different coloured sands, to tanning until we look like tomatoes, partying until 6 am, driving around for hours, drove myself around in Mauritius, visited the glass factory. ate many different types of foods,  drank coconut water, used public transport for the first time, visited war ruins, visited a museum, went fishing at 1 am, and last but not least enjoyed every last bit of scenery..All of this put together is what makes Mauritius such an unforgettable and amazing experience.!!

Don't worry, I will be back soon, so don't miss me too much Ile Maurice ;)

LOTS OF LOVE FOR THE LAST TIME... FROM LOVELY MAURITIUS!
XOXO

My mom & I just stayed at home, and relaxed, then at arounf 16h00, we went to the Quatre Bornes market, but we could not find what we were lokking for, so we just came back home! We then went for supper at Uncle Preeya's house, we had some wonderful Chicken curry and purri. They then decided that we should dress up in sarri, so we had a fun time dressing up.

Friday
In the morning, we headed over to Chamarel Rummery, where we took a tour of the place, and saw how the rhum was made, and the processes that have to happen before sugar cane juice is turned into rhum.. It was really a great experience, and we tasted some rhum at 11:30 in the morning!! GOOD TIMES!!

We also ate some lunch at Chamarel rummery.

29 August - 4 September

Hey ALL!! Hope everyone had a great week!! Here is the summary of the week that passed!

Monday
In the afternoon, my parents and I went to Flic en Flac beach, we walked on the beach for quite a long while, they walked so fast, they walked all the way to La Pirouge, which is quite far!!
I was feeling so lazy, so I just walked slowly behind them.. :)

Tuesday
My dad had some business to do, so my mom & I went to Trou aux biches, we tanned and tanned and tanned! haha!! At around 2pm, we headed to a little restaurant, as we were getting a little hungry.. We had such a great lunch, we then went back to the beach after lunch and tanned some more, at around 3, my dad joined us, so we all just relaxed and soaked up the sun!!
My mom & I with our bright colours :)

Tuesday evening, Yasheelee, Vick & I went to El Mondo to have some pizza! It was sooo good :) When we finished our meal, we met up with Yasheena & other Vicky and we headeed over to Le Caudan waterfront, we all sat outside and relaxed... Very chilled vibes! We had some Ice- cream and a drink, then we headed home.
The stunning view at the Waterfront at night!
Having my ice cream LOL :)

Wednesday
It was a public holiday, so we just relaxed at home, early in tht afternoon, we wanted a few things from the shop, we then walked to the shop, on the way back, it started raining cats and dogs, we had to run back in the rain, we were completely soaked when we got home! It was quite fun though!! :)

Thursday
Yasheelee forced me to wake up early, we headed to the bus stop and I rode in a bus (for public transport) for the first time! It was quite a nice experience!
We went to Rose Hill and we met up with Vicky, we walked around in that shopping complex for quite a while, buying all sorts of things.. Midday we went to a restaurant and had some lunch, it was such a beautiful place its so quite and relaxed there.. Didn't want to leave there, but there was shopping to be done!! :)

After lunch we got on the bus again and went to Quatre Bornes to the market, I found some good bargins this time! It was way more relaxed than the time we went on a Sunday!
We literally shopped till we dropped!
All our shopping!!

Thursday evening we went to a bar lounge called 90 degrees.. It was such a nice evening, we sat outside, had a drink and smoked some hubbly :)

Friday

In the afternoon we went to a river and we saw the celebration of the "Ganesh Chaturthi Festival" .

So what the people do, they make a statue out of earth(like clay) and they keep it in their houses the night before this festival, they believe that this god will take away all their sins. So the next day they bring this statue to a river and the man of the house should get into the water and put the statue in the water, it will then "melt" away over a period of time as it it made from clay or what have you.. They then splash themselves with the water as they believe that it will cleanse them.

After we watched this, we went to the Swami Vivekananda exhibition centre. It was like a exebition of a variety of things, from cars to sugar cane drinks, to shower doors to food to clothes and everything inbetween.

Friday evening we went to Aunty Mala's sister house again, as we were celebrating a birthday!!

Saturday
We went to a bungalow in Blue Bay, and we just spent the evening there.. We played Kings, made a braai, had a real South African meal.. We had Chops, braai broodjies, and pasta. It made me miss SA soo much, but I also felt like I was in SA when eating that meal.
I don't know where this plan originated from, but the boys decided that it would be fun if we go fishing at 1 in the morning... To our surprise, they did not catch anything! HAHAHAHA

Sunday
In the morning we went to the Naval museum, we were not allowed to take pictures inside, but it was the remains of the war and how Mauritius started and the different people that contributed to the history of the Island, it was very interesting to read all the stories and see all the remains of different things from any many years ago!!

What a crazy week!! Was packed and it was so much fun! Can't belive that we only have 1 week left before I leave!
Lots of love from Lovely Mauritius xoxox

Wrapping up the week

I have been so bad with blogging this week, the internet was VERY slow this whole week, so I thought of blogging all at once!!
I uploaded a post with Monday's activities, so on Tuesday we were very relaxed, went looking for houses as my parents are retiring here, so they were looking for places to rent!
We visited La Pirouge on Tuesday

Every hotel / resort has their own beach, this is the beautiful view from La Pirouge!!!
Wednesday, we drove around in Grand Baie (pronounced Grand Bay) , looking for accomodation again, we stopped off and had a drink after the long drive

Thursday my dad had some business to attend to, so my mother & I went to the Waterfront, the clothes and shops are so expensive as it is where all the tourists go! We had a lovely breakfast, then did window shopping till we dropped!! LOL! We were so tired after all the walking, we sat down @ a restaurant called "The Black Steer" and there i had the BEST fruit shake EVER!! Best one I have had in Mauritius!!

Here in Mauritius, it all of a sudden just starts to rain, it was a lovely sunny day, then out of the blue there was a cloud break!!!

Friday

We visited Albion lighthouse, we had the opportunity to go inside & we went to the top of the lighthouse and even to the outside way at the top!! It was such an amzing view from up there!!

Friday evening we went out for supper to celebrate Aunty Mala's birthday!!

Here is the birthday girl with her cake & HUGE candle :)

Saturday was a relaxed day just at home!!

Sunday

We visited the market, and there you could find ANYTHING!! From coconuts to curtains to shoes to clothes and everything in between.

Here I am infront of a little jewelry shop!!

Having my coconut water

After being at the market for some time, we went to the beach and just relaxed there for a little while!
We visited a Dam, im not sure what the name in French, but I know that its direct translation is "Shut up Dam" :) HAHA!!

We had so much fun at the dam, we found a tree where we could swing from, so we thought we would try to be Tarzen & Jane!!

This is my dad acting like a monkey :)

Here I am trying to get the hang of it (Excuse the pun) :)

What a fun & crazy week we had!!
