Weekly wrap up

Hi HI:)

Weekly wrap up time again!!

Monday we spent the day looking at houses for my parents, as they want to move here permanently. Tuesday evening we went out to a Mandarin restaurant for my dads birthday!
We planned such a big surprise and he was honestly really surprised!!! (Mission accomplished) :)

Wednesday we spent the day at the beach, as my dad had some work to do, we decided to catch a bit of a tan, and we did :) haha

Thursday we went to a shopping centre, and while we were walking there, a lady called us, and she was promoting hair products and  stylers, so she started curling my hair with the curling rod, and wow!!! So I decided that I just had to have one, haha!! And I use it everyday! i love it :)

Friday we went to the fruit & veg market, and WOW!!!!!! There is literally something of every fruit & veg, and fresh and extremely cheap!!

Friday evening we went over to Vicky & Yasheena's house for a 'surprise birthday party', but he found out before the party even started, haha!! But regardless, it was a great evening!

Saturday, I stayed at home because we had a bit of a late night on Friday!! haha

Sunday we spent the WHOLE day on the beach, tanning and I swam for a little while

My dad bought a coconut & I was enjoying the cool coconut water :)

Until next week, lots of love from lovely Mauritius

Wrapping up the week

I have been so bad with blogging this week, the internet was VERY slow this whole week, so I thought of blogging all at once!!
I uploaded a post with Monday's activities, so on Tuesday we were very relaxed, went looking for houses as my parents are retiring here, so they were looking for places to rent!
We visited La Pirouge on Tuesday

Every hotel / resort has their own beach, this is the beautiful view from La Pirouge!!!
Wednesday, we drove around in Grand Baie (pronounced Grand Bay) , looking for accomodation again, we stopped off and had a drink after the long drive

Thursday my dad had some business to attend to, so my mother & I went to the Waterfront, the clothes and shops are so expensive as it is where all the tourists go! We had a lovely breakfast, then did window shopping till we dropped!! LOL! We were so tired after all the walking, we sat down @ a restaurant called "The Black Steer" and there i had the BEST fruit shake EVER!! Best one I have had in Mauritius!!

Here in Mauritius, it all of a sudden just starts to rain, it was a lovely sunny day, then out of the blue there was a cloud break!!!

Friday

We visited Albion lighthouse, we had the opportunity to go inside & we went to the top of the lighthouse and even to the outside way at the top!! It was such an amzing view from up there!!

Friday evening we went out for supper to celebrate Aunty Mala's birthday!!

Here is the birthday girl with her cake & HUGE candle :)

Saturday was a relaxed day just at home!!

Sunday

We visited the market, and there you could find ANYTHING!! From coconuts to curtains to shoes to clothes and everything in between.

Here I am infront of a little jewelry shop!!

Having my coconut water

After being at the market for some time, we went to the beach and just relaxed there for a little while!
We visited a Dam, im not sure what the name in French, but I know that its direct translation is "Shut up Dam" :) HAHA!!

We had so much fun at the dam, we found a tree where we could swing from, so we thought we would try to be Tarzen & Jane!!

This is my dad acting like a monkey :)

Here I am trying to get the hang of it (Excuse the pun) :)

What a fun & crazy week we had!!

1 Week

On Wednesday it was a week since we have been here in Mauritius, and we have seen & done so much! It has honestly been such an experience. I know there is still much to do here, and I am excited to see what else Mauritius has in store for us!

On Monday my mom & I went to the beach & spent the whole day there! We got such a lovely tan! The beaches here are so beautiful & quiet... There are no waves and the sand is basically white!!! I could stare at it all day :)

Sunday touring :)

For a early lunch we all got take aways and drove to Sir Seewoosagar Ramgoolam Memorial Gardens. He is the former Prime Minister of Mauritius

We then visited a Cathedral. Stunning

We then drove to a place called " Pointe du Diable" which means "Devil's Point". It got its name from all the soldiers who lost thier lives in the war between the French and the English

Ruins of the war buildings.

Here we are at Old Grand Port, this used to be the main harbour, but now it is located in Port Louis.

This monument was erected in commemoration of the battle of Ile De La Passe.

Here we are at the statue of Harmony

We are eating Merveille "Marvelous Pancake". Its like a crispy pancake with like a chili sauce

The last stop of our tour, we stopped at Natural Bridge, its so stunning there, this bridge was formed naturally by lava that became hard long ago when a volcano erupted.

Price difference

This bottle of champange costs Rs 2500, when converted it R 625!!!! VERY EXPENSIVE

My dad & I are here in Jumbo. We are standing right infront of the cheese selecton :D
We went to Shoprite, Jumbo & SuperU shopping for groceries.... We found that alcohol is very veery expensive in comparison to South Africa, but bread(they mostly only have french loaf breads) are extremely cheap! It costs Rs 10, when converted is R 2.50, so that is very cheap!!
